Preperation and consideration for delivery

open/close

If we have arranged for an installation team to install your bedroom we would like you to check and confirm the following recommendations to ensure a trouble free and successful installation.

We want your delivery to be successful, unloading your bedroom could take up to 45 minutes so please let the surveyor know if there are any access or parking restrictions. You will be asked for a room of choice for the items to be delivered into. Ideally this would not be the room we are installing the furniture in, please consider an alternative especially if the room is small.

Please give some thought to where you would like the waste storing while the installation is being completed, all packaging and off cuts will be removed on completion of the project. We provide a waste sack for this purpose.

Please make sure that the fitter can use the mains electricity supply from a standard 13A 240V socket free of charge and that the supply is installed to the usual standards in force at the time.

Ensure that you will not make any material alterations in the rooms to be fitted post survey and that in particular you have not installed relocated or removed any fixed items that you have not told us about before we entered into the contract.

Please provide reasonable access to the room to be fitted (ladder access is not acceptable) to clear the room and provide sufficient working space for the fitter and co-operate in reducing health and safety risks to an acceptable level.

Please confirm that you have told us of any particular features that you know about the room or its construction which may make the installation more difficult than we might reasonable expect.

If you wish to cancel or postpone the fitting date we require a minimum of 7 days written notice prior to the delivery date.

What if my walls are not square?

open/close

We do not expect anybody to be too technical as that is for us to iron out, within our easy layout system we have implemented fillers to take this into consideration, if it is extreme we simply drop down a size (normally a 100mm), please do not worry as that is what the surveyor is there for.

Do I need to remove plug sockets?

open/close

If you are still wanting to use them and they are in the way of a wardrobe then they would need to be relocated prior to the installation or we would cut an access hole in the back panel of the wardrobe.
If you are not needing to use them then the wardrobes could be fitted in front.

Do I need to remove skirting boards?

open/close

No, our skilled installers will scribe around the skirting boards.

Should I decorate first?

open/close

We would always recommend that decoration is completed after we have installed. If you do have this done before, we would advise you that there may be some touching up needed as they can sometimes mark walls or ceilings while putting the furniture in.

How long will the installation take?

open/close

Generally 1 to 2 days, the majority of installations are fully fitted in 1 day.

How long is the installation guaranteed for?

open/close

1 Year installation guarantee is applicable to products being installed by our logistics partners only and not by your own fitter.

What happens to the waste?

open/close

The installer will ensure the waste and packaging has been left in the dumpy bag provided and left in a convenient place for collection, this normally happens on the next working day and provided that it is accessible then you will not need to be at home.

What preparation do I need to do?

open/close

Top ten tips
1. Please ensure that your room is completely clear of all furniture and soft furnishings before we start.
2. Any building or preparatory work must be completed before our fitter arrives. This includes the moving of electrical sockets and any pipework.
3. Please let your neighbours know we are coming as we will be making some noise whilst we are working in your home. Obviously we will keep this to a minimum, however some disturbance is inevitable.
4. While our fitters always try to keep dust to a minimum there will be some mess in the short term. We therefore advise that you keep other rooms and windows closed during this period.
5. Check when you should decorate your room by reading the recommendations.
6. Check the fitting on carpets section below if you are considering fitting on carpets.
7. Please make sure that our fitter can park near your property. If necessary arrange for a parking permit whilst he is with you.
8. Ensure that there will be a clear route to the room where your furniture is being installed.
9. We will be working from between 8.00am and 6.30pm daily although there may be times when we need to work beyond these hours. Please make sure there is someone at home to let the fitter in and someone at home to sign for the work under taken before the fitter leaves.
10. We aim to give our installers a safe working environment to complete the installation and we respectfully request your support.

Fitting on Carpets
When installing bedroom furniture it is strongly recommended that the furniture be installed with direct contact with the rooms floor. This is to avoid any possible movement due to furniture being installed on carpets. Then re-laying of a carpet will conceal any minor leveling defects. There are times however when we are asked to install our furniture on top of a carpet. In this instance the following points need to be agreed before installation can proceed.
1. You must provide carpet protection in the form of fabric sheets covering the carpet surface before the fitter enters the room. The fitter will use additional working sheets over these.
2. You must accept that any possible cleaning required due to to the flattening of the pile whilst being fitted or for any possible marks projected though the protective covering as your own responsibility.
3. That although the fitter will be as accurate as conditions allow any gaps due to the leveling process showing between the bottom edges of the furniture and the carpet are accepted as inevitable due to this choice of installation.
4. That any cracking of decorators caulk used at walls or ceilings caused by the movement of the carpet will not be covered under the guarantee.
